Hypothesis

Tip the scale.

If lots of small trading fees keep flowing to TJPF, together they can outweigh the biggest single gift in the fund's history. Here's where the scale stands today.

Not to compete with Vlad,
to continue what he started.

A lab balance. The left pan holds Vlad's $125,000 gift. The right pan holds the $TJ community's donations so far, and the beam tips toward the heavier side.

Procedure

From a trade to TJ students, in four steps.

  1. Step 1

    Someone trades $TJ

Buying or selling $TJ on an eligible market is a trade.

  2. Step 2

The trade makes a small fee

Eligible trades generate creator fees. Some of those fees are controlled by the project.

  3. Step 3

    A share goes to TJPF

A disclosed portion of those fees is donated to the TJ Partnership Fund, periodically.

  4. Step 4

    TJ students get new gear

TJPF funds lab equipment and student groups. We publish evidence for every donation.

Press run to follow one trade all the way through.

Questions from the judges

The honest answers.

Is buying $TJ the same as donating?

No. Buying a token is not a charitable donation. If you want to give to TJ directly, donate to the TJ Partnership Fund on its official page ↗.

Is this run by TJ, TJPF or Vlad?

No. $TJ is an independent community initiative. It is not issued, operated or endorsed by the TJ Partnership Fund, TJHSST, Fairfax County Public Schools, Vlad Tenev or Robinhood.

Where does the donated money come from?

From creator fees. Eligible $TJ trades generate fees, and a disclosed portion of the fees the project controls is donated to TJPF on a periodic basis.

How do I know a donation really happened?

Every completed donation is published with evidence in the donation log. If a row says "pending", its paperwork hasn't been posted yet.
